Seahorses Storm Tecate! Saturday, February 4 15 Seahorses from the ages of 2 to 52 left La Mirada at 9 AM Saturday 2/4/06. After a good trip with a couple of stops and wonderful fellowship, the group arrived in Tecate at 12:30 PM. After some greetings the group acted out the Parable of the Good Samaritan - Soccer style - with soccer players acting as Thieves, Levite, Priest, and Good Samaritan. We talked about being neighbors to each other, which was then brought out in pointed fashion with the story of the gospel shared with the large EvangeCube. After a good warm up; the group was then divided in two games; Steal the Bacon; Goalie-Shooter Game. Scrimmages were played with the kids and later with the older guys and adults. It was an awesome time of sharing Christ’s love with whoever was around. The group was truly FAT (faithful, available, teachable) throughout the day. Around 5 PM we loaded up, tired but encouraged by what God is doing in Tecate and in our lives. It was a wonderful time of partnership with Pastor Juan Valdez, people from the church and people in the community of El Rincon This trip will be followed up by Church Based Sports Ministry Training with several national leaders in Tecate on 2/24-2/25.
