Mark Clitnovici
It was a quick counter from yet another Seahorse attack that lead to the opener after 25 minutes of play. A scrappy end to the first half still left the game wide open as the seahorses went in 0-0 at half time.
The second half began as the Alliance Select Striker outsprinted the Seahorse defence to slide home their first goal of the day.
The Seahorses fell behind by a 2nd goal after only 10 more minutes when poor defensive work left an easy finish for the Alliance Striker for his second. After some more wayward shooting from the Seahorses Alliance added a third in the 75th minute mark to send the Seahorse Fans home early. Morse combined with both Orr and then Clitnovici twice, without any real danger to the Alliance Keeper.
Morse struck another cintilating freekick over the wall, only to have the Keeper cheekly tip the shot over the bar.
It was the biggest loss of recent memory for the Seahorses since a 4-1 drubbing by Cal United earlier in the season.
The lost left the seahorses 3rd with a game to go this season. The Cup is the last chance the Seahorses have for a torphy this year, with teams around them in the table still with games in hand (Cal United - 2, Alliance
- 1 and NHBV - 1). The seahorses can finish as high as second, but will need some games to go their way, while they can finish as low as 6th mathematically, if teams around them win and the seahorses lose their final game.
Join us this weekend at Biola University as the Seahorses continue their run in the Raul Briones Cup against Premier outfit the Lazers (second from
bottom) See you Sunday!!!!
