Seahorse Women's team will not field a team for the 2006-07 season
With some new challenges facing the Seahorse staff in the fall of 2006, the Seahorses will not be forming a women's team to compete in the Orange County Women's Soccer League. Many of the former Seahorse players have joined other teams in the league.
Even though there is not a team there are still many opportunities to get involved in the Seahorse ministry. For more information please contact Jaclyn Maag, 714-739-5060.
The Seahorse Women gear up for the 2005 Fall season in the Orange County Women's Soccer League
The Seahorse women are gearing up for another season. We have a few new players mixing in with a veteran group. I am excited to have Jaclyn Maag join the Seahorse staff. She and I will be working closely together to continue to build the women’s program. As leaders we are stepping up the intensity not just on the field, but also in the ministry training aspects of the team. Our Bible study time is extended and will take place each week for the first hour of practice. Please pray for Jaclyn and I to have wisdom as we lead these women spiritually. Pray also for spiritual growth for each of the women on the team. Our heart is for them to go deeper in their relationship with Christ. As this happens, we are confident that God will provide many opportunities for outreach to other teams in our league and to the community. Watch this space for details of God’s work in and through our team over the coming months!

Viva, Las Vegas!
The Seahorse Women's team just returned from a soccer tournament in Las Vegas this past weekend. This is a popular tournament which many teams in our league participate each year. Tournaments offer good opportunities for sports ministry and building relationships, so we decided to enter. I’m pretty sure that we were the only team meeting on Friday night to pray. We prayed for our team to demonstrate our faith by how we play as well as for opportunities to share about the Lord. It was great to see each woman on the team play the game as it was meant to be played with heart, passion and sportsmanship. Our team truly stood out as different. We received positive feedback regarding the way we played. A few of us were able to share that God is the difference in our team. Seeds were planted this weekend in the lives of those we met. Please pray that God would water these seeds and continue to draw people to Himself.
I couldn’t be prouder of the way each player handled themselves on the field. This truly is a great group of sports ministers. We finished the tournament 2-1-1 and just missed advancing to the next round. I know that God used us and we look forward to more to come!
