Day of Champions 2006
The Seahorses take part in this annual outreach in Azusa
We had a wonderful time at the Day of Champions on March 18th! Some 70 'champions' came and participated in World Cup games, Steal the Bacon,  the ever popular Shooter-Goalie game, and a huge scrimmage along with some of the coaches. This was the 4th Annual Day Of Champions—an outreach where the Seahorses, Azusa Pacific University (APU) and the VIVA AZUSA Soccer Program partner in reaching out to the children of Azusa with Christ’s love.  It was the first outreach of the season for the PDL players who participated and led enthusiastically.

Coach Slider, Dan Young, shared from this season's theme: Know Where You Are Going and how having Jesus in our lives can make all the difference in giving us clear direction on where we are headed.  The 'champions' then were divided into smaller groups where they could interact and reflect on these Bible truths.
Other highlights for the kids were a Taco Bell lunch and getting autographs from the MLS Real Salt Lake that were training on the field next to the outreach.  The day was capped of by an Azusa Pacific-Seahorse PDL scrimmage where the young players could see some high caliber soccer.
As stated earlier, it was a great great day where God was honored and glorified. A huge thank you to Lorena Marquez with the VIVA AZUSA Soccer and APU for joining us in God’s work on this special day!
