Seahorse Futsal Marathon
24 hours of futsal really wore us out!
On May 4th and May 5th, 29 teams participated in the Seahorses 2nd Annual Soccer Marathon. Starting with the U18 group at 4 PM Friday and finishing up with the U16 on Saturday at 4 PM, much soccer passion was left on the Futsal Court. Testimonies were shared at the various tournaments and good sportsmanship was displayed throughout the tournament with a great competitive spirit throughout the 24 hours.
Congratulations to the various First Place teams: U18-Max Lane (Fullerton); Church - Dunami (Evangelical Free Church New Life, Newbury Park); Men’s Open-Firestorm (West Covina); Co-Ed GSE, (La Mirada); U12-Red Lions (Compton); U16- Real Madrid (Whittier).
Another reason, other than playing soccer, in organizing a tournament like this is it gives us a chance to reconnect with Seahorse partnerships throughout LA and Orange Counties. We praise God that 16 of the 29 teams have strong connections with the Seahorse Ministry. There were definite very encouraging notes as two teams look to go to the next step in their Sports Ministry. As God leads, we look to further enhance these and other partnerships as we do, train and deploy in Sports Ministry for the glory of God.
