GSAC Senior Bowl
Women: North 2, South 2 - Men: Seniors 5, Seahorses 4

The First Annual GSAC Senior Bowl, hosted by the So CA Seahorses and powered by ECCU - "Banking You Can Believe In", was a great event.  Many GSAC schools were represented and the seniors were honored for their accomplishments on the field representing their respective schools. The first game featured the GSAC Women North vs South. It was 0-0 at half time as the women were working their kinks out, some having not played in a month. As the rythym got going the goals started to come. It ended as a 2-2 tie. They all had a great time as did South head coach Paul Gizzi, Seahorse GM and North coach Jason Surrell, GSAC coach of the year and NAIA finalist.

On the men's side the goals started to come earlier.  The Seahorses went up early 2-0 and the first half finished 3-1 in favor of the Seahorses.  However, the Seniors came on strong in the second and saw a flurry of goals beating out the Seahorses 5-4.  The Seniors were appreciative that the Seahorses organized this event for them.  Senior coach Jim Rickard, also head coach of Master's College and host team for this event, not only lead the Seniors to victory as a coach, he also scored for the Seahorses as a player!  Guest Seahorse coach, Joe Lurker of Hope International Univ. was there to support his one senior Nik Gabaldon.  Many other Seniors played and had a great time on the field together.

Many thanks to our event sponsors; ECCU, Planet Soccer, Puma, Bon Appetit and The Master's College.  It was a great event and we look forward to hosting it again next year.
