Women's Open Tour to Japan

This tour will stretch each participant on and off the field. We will be learning what it means to be a sports minister, as well as putting what we learn into practice through many different avenues of ministry such as matches, camps, post-game meals, testimony sharing, clinics and pre-tour training. Our hope is that each girl on this tour comes home with a deeper knowledge of our Lord, Sports Ministry and a confidence in sharing her faith with others.
Come join us for this exciting 2009 outreach to Central Japan. This is the 13th year for the Seahorses to minister in Japan. We have received a special invitation for a women’s tour as Shizuoka Prefecture is dedicated to emphasizing women’s soccer for the next 3 years. Japanese soccer is quite competitive and as a country the interest at the grass roots level is booming.
This will be our 6th time to bring a women’s soccer team to partner with pastors in 2 cities in Central Japan: Osaka and Shizuoka. These pastors have arranged outreaches to local, select, and university women’s teams as well as clinics for local elementary schools. Though the soccer and ministry schedule is quite busy, we will take a day to rest and tour a scenic and cultural Japanese location.
