SO. CAL. SEAHORSES REVEAL NEW LOGO
The So. Cal. Seahorses,, a division of Missionary Athletes International (MAI), revealed a new logo today which reflects the identity that it shares with the parent organization and sibling offices Charlotte Eagles (Est. 1991), and Chicago Eagles (1997).
The new logos are part of a rebranding process that extends across the entire organization. “The rebranding is the culmination of six years of a strategic planning process which MAI began in 2011” said CEO Patrick Stewart. “We wanted to reflect the greater cohesiveness between MAI and its divisions through a new visual identity. People may know the Charlotte Eagles, Chicago Eagles or Southern California Seahorses without realizing that they are related to each other and are part of a larger organization”.
MAI was founded in 1983 with a mission of using the global environment of soccer to communicate the message of Jesus Christ. MAI began operating the Southern California Seahorses in the same year, expanding to the East Coast as the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club in 1991 and to the Midwest in 1997 as the Chicago Eagles. In the past 35 years, tens of thousands of children have participated in MAI camps operated by the Charlotte Eagles, Chicago Eagles and Southern California Seahorses. In addition, over 200 international tours have ministered successfully in countries on six continents.
MAI engaged AkinsParker to design the logos in conjunction with an internal creative team representing each of the divisions. AkinsParker has included key design elements that are reflective of MAI’s history and purpose in a creative way that communicates both unity and individual distinctives. The rebranding process will be implemented over the course of the year with teams expected to begin competing under the new design this summer.
For further information, please contact Kelly Warner. MAI is a 501 (c ) (3) non-profit religious organization and is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
